Research: Determining if Dominant Wind Direction is Soley Responisble for Thaw Lake Orientation
Details of Research: The aim of my research is to establish whether or not dominant summer wind direction is responsible for the orientation of thaw lakes on the Arctic Coastal Plain, Alaska and Tuktoyaktuk Peninsula, NWT, Canada. To this I have used Landsat 5 and 7 ETM+ images to measure lake azimuth and ERA40 wind data.
