Research: Assessing Oil & Gas Transport Impacts: Health, Safety & Environment
Details of Research: My research attempts a scientific analysis and appraisal of the impacts of hydrocarbon transport processes on human, land and groundwater (environment) safety vis-à-vis the challenges of industrialization and mobility. It looks at environmental degradation in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria and the incessant Oil & Gas facility interdiction problems i.e. pipeline vandalization - (mainly peculiar to developing countries). This research intends to provide answers to key questions on factors responsible for problems associated with overcoming spatial disparity in Oil and Gas Transportation. Measuring related impacts within the framework of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) protocol based on Geomatics. It draws on best practices from the UK EIA/SEA past and current experiences and develops a comprehensive EIA protocol for the Oil and Gas Industry based on GIS and Remote Sensing.
