Laser Scanning and Lidar
SIG Summary
The aim of the RSPSoc Laser Scanning & Lidar SIG is to provide a focus for space-borne, airborne & terrestrial laser scanning activity, both within the UK and internationally. Meetings bring together those from academia, commercial and government organisations to present research and discuss progress in the field. There are currently four principal themes of research within the group: 3D modelling, data integration, mapping, and applications.
SIG Activities
The Laser Scanning & Lidar SIG was established in October 2005, and the inaugural meeting was held in February 2006. There are currently 80+ members.
We plan to hold one or two meetings a year at which delegates are invited to present recent research, and have open discussions about progress and challenges in the field.
We hope that there will also be a strong representation from SIG members at the RSPSoc annual conferences.
In the steering group we are developing a separate website for the group which will provide more information and industry links. Please contact us if you would like to input to the website content.
