GRSG Student Awards 2009

The Geological Remote Sensing Group (GRSG) aims to offer three awards, up to £750 ($1200) each year, to aid and reward students that are engaged in a variety of geoscientific remote sensing research. The following categories of awards are available:

Fieldwork & Travel Award
To provide assistance with travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses for students who are presenting at an international conference or undertaking fieldwork contributing towards their research into an aspect of geological remote sensing.

Laboratory Award
To provide assistance to students with laboratory studies, hiring analytical equipment, or lab time to perform experiments contributing towards their studies.

Innovation Award
To provide assistance to students who show scientific or technical innovation in the areas of geological remote sensing.

To be eligible for the scholarships you must meet the following requirements;

1) must be a student member of the GRSG aged 18-35 at the time of application or enclose membership form along with application (see application form at www.grsg.org)
2) must be enrolled on a full or part-time university programme focused on some of aspect geological remote sensing
3) required to submit a report on research results, and how the funds were used, for publication in the GRSG Newsletter

The closing date for applications for this years awards is December 1st 2009. Application forms are available at www.grsg.org, which will need to be e-mailed to: agm@grsg.org.uk . The successful applicants will be announced at the GRSG Annual Meeting in December.
