Postdoc position - UCLouvain - Belgium

Postdoctoral position on remote sensing of forest cover changes in Eric Lambin’s research team, UCLouvain (Belgium)

Professor Eric Lambin seeks applications for a full-time postdoctoral research position to work on a new research project on the use of time series of high/medium spatial resolution satellite data to analyse forest transitions in mountain environments. The research will focus on interactions between forest-cover changes, land use, and the provision of ecosystem services. It should also improve methodologies to detect subtle forest-cover changes in mountain environments. Study sites are located in the Himalayas, the Carpathians and the Andes, where several PhD students will also conduct research as part of the project.

The successful candidate will be based at the Department of Geography of the University of Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium). Applicants will have a strong research experience in the field of remote sensing of land change and land use studies. Expected starting date is late 2009 to early 2010.

Candidates should send a curriculum vitae, recent publications, and the name of three persons who could provide recommendations, to:
