It is our pleasure to announce SilviLaser 2012! From humble beginnings in 2002, the SilviLaser series of meetings is returning to Canada. SilviLaser 2012 is the twelfth international conference focusing on applications of laser systems for forestry and forest landscapes. Previous conferences have also taken place in Australia, Sweden, Germany, USA, UK, Japan, and Finland. The interest in the use of airborne lasers for characterizing forest ecosystems has expanded rapidly in conjunction with changes in technology, increases in computing and software capacity, as well as an improved understanding of how to utilize the information captured. The SilviLaser 2012 program has been developed to enable communication of a wide-range of topics, from operational applications to the latest research outcomes.
Please consider attending and submitting an abstract to present a paper or poster. Online abstract submission is to be opened soon, as is the online registration for the meeting. In the meantime, please hold the dates and make your plans to be in Vancouver this September. Abstracts will be due on or before May 14, 2012.
